Department Web Site Becomes User-Friendly

Under the new management of journalism instructor Bret Schulte, the Walter J. Lemke
Journalism Department Web site has become more of a "central portal" for students and
faculty.
Since August 2008, Schulte has been in control of keeping the site updated and fresh by adding new features and making it an "easy access for students," he said.
Schulte wanted more links on the front page. The introduction of links to the Razorback
Yearbook, KXUA-FM, and the Razorback Reporter, a new Web site created to showcase
students work, allows visitors to go directly to those particular media sources without
searching.
Schulte also has added RSS feeds to the front page, where new headlines are updated more frequently.
The internships page has been updated to include the latest information on available internships. This is an important source for students looking to gain experience in the workplace.
Twitter is fast becoming a popular real-time short messaging service, and the journalism
department is keeping pace with the latest trend. You can follow the department on
Twitter through the link found on the Web site.
